Shuttle bus route SOUTH
The SOUTH bus route leads from the impressive starting area of the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo to the sections of the track that are tackled by the majority of participants. From the visitor zones, you can see many riders battling the track, heavy hustle and bustle, and plenty of action. Our visitor service crew will be available at the shuttle bus stops to provide information about the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo. Important: Please do not leave the designated visitor zones and observe the restricted areas!
> Visitor zone ARENA-SOUTH
The ARENA SOUTH visitor zone is a 5-minute walk from the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo Arena and offers spectacular views of the very steep climbs that participants had to tackle on the Mitas Rocket Ride. While the front of the field is already fighting for valuable positions, many riders have to make multiple attempts – a visitor zone that's guaranteed to be action-packed! Food stands provide refreshments and small snacks.
> Visitor Zone START
The START visitor zone is a 10-minute walk from the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo Arena and offers spectacular views of the starting area and the first, very selective steep climbs – which already separate the wheat from the chaff. Action-packed scenes unfold here, as starting row after starting row surges up the steep slopes! The SOUTH shuttle bus line departs from here to the other visitor zones.
> Visitor zone BRECHER (Bus route SOUTH)
The BRECHER visitor zone offers a direct view of the immediate starting area and the steep exits from the starting crater. This is the perfect place to watch the initial battles for position between the top riders. Food stands provide refreshments and small snacks.
> Visitor zone OMV WATER LINE (Bus route SOUTH)
The OMV WATER PIPE visitor zone is located directly at the foot of the longest steep climb of the Red Bull Finale. Drivers must negotiate this daunting climb to Checkpoint 3 of the race without actually running up – perfect driving technique and hearty acceleration are required here! The WATER PIPE visitor zone also offers a view of another legendary section of the track – the Dreikönigs Steilhang (Epiphany Steilhang). Not as long as the Wasserleitung (Water Pipe), but at least as tough and spectacular... Food stands provide refreshments and small snacks.
> Visitor zone BATHTUB (Bus route SOUTH)
The BATHTUB visitor zone is located at the edge of the legendary floating pool, not inaccurately called the "gigantic bathtub." Participants must first master the almost vertical entrance to this section before exiting the pool via the extremely steep edge. Immediately after the bathtub, the "Zumpferlwald" checkpoint, an extremely rugged forest area, awaits the riders – also offering action-packed scenes! Food stands provide refreshments and small snacks.
Shuttle bus route NORTH
The NORTH bus route starts directly in front of the main entrance to the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo Arena and leads to some of the most notorious sections of the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo. Here, the riders are in the second and decisive part of the nearly 44-kilometer race track. While the field has thinned considerably, the top riders are delivering top-notch riding technique in the mercilessly difficult sections. Our visitor service crew will be available at the shuttle bus stops to provide information about the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo Finale. Important: Please do not leave the designated visitor zones and observe the restricted areas!
> Visitor zone CROSSING (Bus route NORTH)
The CROSSING visitor zone is located at the rear of the Erzberg and offers spectacular action on a steep climb from one level to the next. Participants are located here just before the start of the NO HELP zone at Checkpoint 11, so visitors are still allowed to help (and pull) the racers. In 2018, 174 of the 500 riders who started reached this section, so we can expect quite a crowd! The front of the field takes about 35 minutes to reach this section of the course.
> Visitor zone CARL'S DINNER (Bus route NORTH)
The CARL'S DINNER visitor zone is located directly on what is arguably the most famous, most infamous, and often race-deciding section of the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo. Participants must negotiate a several-hundred-meter-long boulder field to reach Checkpoint 19. The key is finding the optimal line through the enormous, sharp-edged granite boulders—and not completely exhausting themselves in the process. Carl's Dinner must be ridden twice—the riders meet on the outward and return journeys. The front of the field reaches Carl's Dinner after just over an hour of riding and takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes to complete this grueling section. Behind the scenes, however, epic dramas unfold year after year... Food stands provide refreshments and light snacks.
> Visitor zone GREEN HELL (Bus route NORTH)
The GREEN HELL visitor zone is located near the visitor parking lot, directly at the entrance to Checkpoint 23 of the same name. This steep, root-filled forested section challenges even world champions to the limit and already provided a race-deciding drama in 2015. In 2018, the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo podium finish was decided here between Manuel Lettenbichler and Billy Bolt. In 2018, 31 riders reached this checkpoint, with the leaders entering the Green Hell after approximately 1.5 hours of driving.
> Visitor Zone GEORGE AVENUE (Bus Route NORTH)
Right next to the legendary Carl's Dinner, after the Green Hell, a mighty, endlessly steep climb awaits the riders. George Avenue can only be mastered with full throttle and perfect riding technique. Here, it's all about giving it your all and mobilizing every remaining reserve. Visitors can view this impressive section of the track from above – a lasting impression, no doubt!
> LAZY NOON Visitor Zone (North Bus Route)
The LAZY NOON visitor zone is located directly at the final and ultimate challenge before the finish of the Red Bull Finale. Within sight of the Erzbergrodeo Arena, participants at Checkpoint 24 must negotiate an entire Erzberg level via a long and very steep chute. The few riders who make it this far can already look forward to the highly coveted finish – if they can muster up all their strength, as the climb is incredibly tough. True fans cheer on their stars here until the very last minute of the race...
Visitor zone FINISH (Red Bull Erzbergrodeo Action Arena)
The finish area of the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo Finale is located in the heart of the Erzbergrodeo Arena. With seating for over 700 people, two large daylight video walls, event moderation, and catering, it offers a close-up experience of the finish line and all its emotions. The race progress of the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo Finale will be broadcast live on the video walls, and the riders will be invited for interviews immediately after crossing the finish line.
