SAFETY FIRST: Uncompromising safety

When so many athletes participate in a race, accidents cannot be ruled out. However, to ensure that everything goes as smoothly as possible for the athletes, an effective safety concept is required.

The RED BULL ERZBERGRODEO is an international pioneer in this field.

The Austrian Motorsport Association (MSA), under the leadership of Karl Katoch, is the sporting director of the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo. Through close cooperation with the VA-Erzberg, the municipality of Eisenerz, regional partners, emergency services, and partners such as KTM and RED BULL, the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo has been developed into not only one of the most successful but also the safest motorsport event in the industry.

The focus is on maintaining and further developing the world's unique safety concept. In close cooperation with the Red Cross under the leadership of Erwin Schume, and with the deployment of significant financial resources, a highly experienced crew of paramedics, mountain rescue units, and rescue helicopters, an extremely efficient rescue and care concept was established at Erzberg.

This allows for optimal care of the extensive and difficult-to-access terrain throughout the four-day event. Even on the approximately 35-km Red Bull Erzbergrodeo track, first aid can be provided within minutes – no matter where the accident occurs. Hundreds of helpers, motorized guides, and trained doctors form a well-established team.

A great deal of money and effort has been invested in spectator safety to make "simple spectating" a safe and unforgettable experience. Compliance with the MOUNTAIN RULES is an important prerequisite for this!

The Red Bull Erzbergrodeo can therefore confidently be described as one of the safest motorsport events in the world.
