In the ROCKET RIDE, riders must complete a three-part steep slope in the fastest time possible. In the qualifying round, each participant has two timed attempts to burn the fastest possible time up the mountain and make it into the TOP 48, who will then compete against each other in the SUPERFINAL.

Each participant rides the prologue course once on Friday and once on Saturday, with riders released onto the mountain at 20-second intervals

The Action Arena at the foot of the “Iron Giant” is not only the vibrant heart of the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo during the event, but with the ACTION ARENA it also offers a very special highlight for the thousands of participants and tens of thousands of visitors to this one-of-a-kind global motorcycle off-road sport event.
Located in close proximity to the festival tent and with a direct view of the mighty Erzberg, the ACTION ARENA is the perfect stage for the spectacular dirt bike action of the world’s best motorcycle off-road riders during the ONE-ON-ONE rider presentation, and it also treats fans to thrilling racing action with the XTREME TRIAL CHALLENGE.
1on1 Rider Presentation
In the "ONE-ON-ONE" presentation format, two top drivers each demonstrate their technical skills on a specially prepared section of the track – in the form of a head-to-head short-track race! The top drivers will also be available to international camera crews and press representatives for exclusive film and photo shoots and interviews during the driver presentation.
Xtreme Trial Challenge

MITAS ROCKET RIDE
Opening competition of the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo
Location : Steep slope directly at the foot of the Erzberg
Mode : Mass start in heats, several riders at the same time
Challenge : brutal steep slopes, steps & loose rock – no mistakes allowed
Requirements : Power, technique, nerves of steel
Final : only the best make it to the last heat and fight for victory
Character : short, intense, spectacular
Highlight : Pure adrenaline – the perfect start to the Erzbergrodeo for drivers and spectators
Qualification for the Red Bull Erzbergrodeo final
Participants : up to 1500 drivers from all over the world
Mode : Time trial on a fast gravel track of approximately 13 km
Goal : the 500 fastest riders secure a starting place for the Erzbergrodeo
Start : single against the clock, full speed on wide forest and gravel roads
Driving style : High speed instead of technology – unlike the main competition, this is about top speed and control at top speed
Meaning : the better time, the better starting position in the main race (front rows = big advantage)
Character : spectacular, fast, the exact opposite of the extremely technical passages in the main race

Participants : the 500 fastest riders from the Iron Road Prologue
Start : Sunday, 12:00, in waves of 50 riders each (ordered by prologue time)
Route : approx. 30 km through the “Iron Giant”
Checkpoints : 23 checkpoints that must be passed in order
Time limit : exactly 4 hours – ends at 4:00 PM sharp
Challenge : extreme climbs, brutal rock sections, narrow forest passages, steep descents
Reality : only a handful of riders even reach the finish – most fail early on the mountain
Scoring : those who do not reach the goal will be ranked according to the last checkpoint
Trophy : no cash prize – the winners receive
a piece of Erzberg rock as a symbol of hardness
